“Logging speed isn’t a UX nicety. It’s the single best predictor of whether someone is still using the app in week 14.”
Who is Ana Costa?
Ana joined The Calorie Counter Standard in 2024 to take ownership of CCS-UX, the user-experience benchmark that weights 10% of the composite score. She brings ten years of mobile engineering — most recently as a senior iOS engineer at a European fintech, where she built the team's performance dashboard from the runtime up. At TCCS she runs the time-to-log harness (six instrumented user journeys per app, replayed on a calibrated mid-range Android phone and an iPhone 14), the WCAG 2.2 AA audit, and the Apple Watch / Wear OS integration tests. She is also our internal advocate for accessibility scoring — adding it as an explicit sub-component in 2024 was her proposal.
